a note.

It seems like it was only yesterday that Buchu and THe Graduate told me about this awesome site. What followed was a bit of harassment from my side that ultimately led to an invitation.

I've gotta say, the format of this site is amazing. The amount of thought I have to put into not uploading just any photo... I would be hard pressed to do that if I was not going to make an upload.

At the start of my photography craze, I was snapping 24/7. Each day I would try and upload something form the day before or the morning. Now that phase is over, and I'm a bit more selective of where I point my cam. That brings the challenge of deciding what to upload.

On the one hand, having less choice is a curse because I end up posting many photos from one specific setting (see Bulungula), on the other hand, it's a blessing too. I'm forced to look at older photos more carefully, and really try and see them as I wouldn't first off. This seems to have led to a greater awareness of what I like in an image. So I also know what I need to put +into+ an image.

Obviously it's a long journey ahead of me, but being part of this community seems to have fast tracked it somewhat.

Now I'm 5 photos away from 75, and I'm spending the same amount of energy thinking about who would best contribute to the site, but also who would benefit most from this kind of fast tracking....Not to mention the feedback and inspiration from the other 'graphers!

That is all.

Peace.

    Indeed.

I am trying to change my style of photography — which means I have to learn to shoot differently; I have about +50 shots I took over the last week; but none of them fit this new style I am aiming for, but they are perfect for the old style, which I am tired of.

Actually, its more like I don't want to show 75er's the same style of photography — I need something new.

    75 FTW!!

I think we all feel the same way or similarly about what this community does for our art. Lets continue to push ourselves to do better

    I fully agree...

what used to be a personal thing, has become creative, yet challenging in itself, as now you want to push yourself further or discover a new way of seeing things... #idig 75

I find myself shooting more and more of street fashion of late, i am more attracted to these stylish women i meet, somewhat i feel the need to capture them, but beyond, i have learnt not to let a phase define what i am to photography, which is more than some of the my subjects and interests at any given time, i think at the end, as my world view changes, so does my approach to things and subjects i shoot. We live and we learn.

    For now, eye candies.
