Think of this often, there is so much out there, what is the point. Should we consume as much of it as possible or shouldn't we, should we only concentrate on the necessities? The only conclusion I can come up with is that all these possessions should not consume you.
i think it comes with someone's past, and once again, this becomes a racial issue. for years, the only way a black man could express his achievement or climbing of the "social-status-ladder" was via consumables. You couldn't buy sizable property in an area you wanted to, so instead, you bought a "valaza", the florsheim shoes, the Brentwood pants, the Gorei skirt and pringle jersey. And i guess the habit has never left. Habits that are passed down become part of your heritage, and eventually get written into your DNA
BMW is still me dream car.

sometimes crime makes me think that we are meant to reevaluate our standpoint with regards to materials, and their importance. When your life is threatened you start weighing up what's more important: (camera, laptop, phone, car) or (life itself)?
Even though human life seems to have lost so much of its value, I'd still pick it over materials anyday
