    I really, really love this.
    Ooooooooooooooooooweeeeeeeeee.
    It feels like a marshmellow.
I love this shot. I love the way that hand's got its grip on whatever part of the body this is.
I'd like to think its the bum. It's a hot picture if its a bum.

my colleagues think its a shoulder.
I don't care. I want it to be a bum.

    HOT! HOT! HOT pic

  12. twiggle stix

This was great to see, that we try to Define wat the image is then appreciate it. does it make it easier to appreciate a pic once we know wat it is first or can we appreciate the unknown.........im left confused like every1 else!

Thank you for the love everybody. Goodlooking out Heartwarmer, wat is it wit you and the bum?..............lol

I think it has to do with, 'composing' --- we rarely see the entire object to make sense of it, but we need bits of it, to start seein' the object.

but, imho, this photograph (i hate using the word image to define a photograph) only shows the 'small' bits of the object, so in my mind, i'm trying to make sense of what it is.

That, being said: the only sense of appreciation of this photograph, again imho, would be limited to, the colour, tone, texture, and what my imaginations imagines it to be.

and to add insult to injury --- saying the photograph is beautiful/ugly requires, imho, me to compare it something that is not beautiful/ugly.

Either I make sense, or you can ignore everything I said.

  14. twiggle stix

You made alot of sense Lebogang, and i get where you coming from.
This picture was to attempt to answer a question I was faced with all weekend and to question the Gestalt theory. Are we only capable of appreciating an image only when we make sense of it (this would require us to see the whole image). This gave rise to another question, "When do we appreciate?", once we see the hollistic picture or are we happy with appreciating the pieces we get given. This is in all factors our lives: in our art, in what we bring to our earth, in our relationships........
    When do we truly appreciate?
Cause apart from this image in life we get given only portions.

  15. NguJaz

judging by the angle of the arm, I would say it looks like a tummy; but judging by the darkened erm, gorge ... let's just say the belly has not such a wide divider -- eitherway, it's nothing that a little vaseline wouldn't fix!

  16. rudzani

You can probably work it out from the position of the hand, as well as the orientation of the skin lines:-)

    Great shot.

  17. loymad

I see someone tugging at their own fleshy shoulder... but that could just be me...

I think humans have a need to make sense of things... hence science, religion, myths, legends etc... we're just satisfied with any answer that makes sense like volcanoes errupt when the gods are not happy with us.

    Seeing ya

It's an interesting detail shot. I think it could've been made more interesting by giving it context. Like if we could see the head of the person whom the hand is scratching. You don't even have to have it in focus just have it there so we could know what's going on.

  18. Bareng Rakuba

    ayo.

  19. Makhaya

genius. blind. brilliant composition. its more than a pic, its a song, a poem. ah twiggle you speak in many forms to me.

  20. twiggle stix

    Thank you Makhaya

  21. ntsasa

@twiggy - it's human nature to question things when the context seems far from clear.
If on a daily basis we make it our duty to question things that are a clear as daylight, and insist on reading between non-existent lines, what more with a scenario that is incomplete and has 'ifs' all around it.

It's good to be human, I don't think HE could have made better than this to walk the earth.

  22. Max Mogale

    Dood, is that YOUR booty?

  23. twiggle stix
