exposed, because for me the whites are broken out, and it lacks a little sharpness.

@ Palapala: Thanks for your remarks, I made this one last time I was in Maputo, at the time I wasn't very happy with the results but as I was going through my archives yesterday (choosing photos for the exhibition) decided to give it a try. It does lack some sharpness but in my defence I had Tau getting up to mischief in the museum behind me so I couldn't focus very well on what I was doing, I clicked and was going to make another try but the men sitting down moved and the lady behind the wall was gone (and so was Tau gone down the stairs).
I like the (intentional) overexposure as it only brings out the paver's texture where there's shade and washes out the street in the background.
One of the things I like about over exposed b&w photos is that it looks like a graphite sketch where one can choose which elements to give emphasis and which ones can disappear from the composition.
