Not your usual holiday destination, this is Sucata Lopes, a scrapyard in Maputo that belongs to one of my friend's family, it's a living dynamic museum with 40 years of mozambican history in layers of scrap.
The people in the photo are Tau (my son), Lyndal (my partner/wife), on the far background my cousin Erika (she's also on 75) and a worker at the scrapyard.

It was a very hot and humid day, so you can imagine with all the metal around how uncomfortable this place must've been. During the holidays Tau was only happy at the beach or in the swimming pool, anywhere where he could escape the full effects of the heat.
Dam!, I need that 230E grille above the workers head! Been looking for that...
