my plumber has been so dodgy lately -- missing appointments ...
nonetheless, interesting concept -- you got a date?

    3. Greer

      love this
      when?

    4. lebogang nkoane

      I skeem end of March or mid-April? Maybe sync it with the 5th Year;

But mostly, to give us time to get it done.

    5. Native Soul

i am reminded of a graphic designer that did something similar, he went around his town, and took handwritten ads, and gave it a rework-- with proper graphic design principles -----

one can never tell if it works(does it bring revenue to the person), --- I do think the action and the attempt in breaking the advertising cycle is what intriques me. I mean we will bring an alternative economy to life. A gift economy *

I am a little far removed , but when i was down south just some weeks ago i did some shots of the roadside ads,

In china it was the same with a twist --- as so many people are moving in and out of the very TALL apartments buildings , the Shanghai folk found a novel way to make sure they are still in the loop, They would leave their name and cell number on a wall close to the building they occupied and move on -- WALLS were thick with red ink chinese texts plus numbers, at first i was bewildered thinking this is a new kinda street art - but soon came to understand the idea ---

long story short --- i think it to be an honourable idea, and wanna contribute in a way that i am not sure of now , but i am here to help.

Meet: I'm (tentatively, as usual) totally up for a meet, __especially__ if it's within walking distance of a Gautrain station.

Exhibitions: I really want to start participating in them this year, so from now on I'l put in extra effort for them.

Exhibition/digital: How about getting some volunteers to curate some digital shows that can then be posted on a blog?

Themes: There was a suggestion a while back, "to gaze upon white flesh". Obviously a bit of a political/risky one this, but maybe necessary to start some frikkin dialogue, since that's what this country needs.

Bananas: We should start a LN food and coffee fund to keep you coding. ;)

    2. lebogang nkoane

      LOL @ fund!

Yeah, don't hide yourself, although, you've done some meet-ups with other 'graphers, so that's pretty cool.

Exhibition: yeah, we could work on that — I'll speak to a few curators; and also, we could do a 'community' type thing.

Themes; I agree, we need to talk — I am game for that idea; let me add to the list. Then, in a few days, I'll plug a theme specific thing to plan them.

    3. Uno

LN fund: let's not forget the smokes...

      Meetings: I'm up : )

Exhibitions: I'm in for any kind of exhibition, either solo or collaborations, especially if it involves printed material... only problem is cash flow at the moment, is there any possibility of sponsors?

Themes: all in, although it will depend on time...

Bananas: how did you come up with that name? You remind me of a friend of mine from Maputo, Vino, for a whole number of reasons, not only because of bananas...

    4. lebogang nkoane

      LOL @ smokes!

Exhibitions: I am working to get a sponsor that we will partner with throughout the year ( and possibly, in the next years), 2 are keen; still need to work the kinks of it.

Bananas: I am geek, not greek and I don't like the terms, alpha/beta/blah-blah. So my number system is based on fruits, also, on the mvc-framework (a web development framework) I built, it is now on version b (for bananas).

      :-)

    5. Diaan

But... really... if you're going to have to count using fruit we're going to have to standardise.

    6. Lebogang Ditibane

      so after banana is cranberry?

    7. lebogang nkoane

      lol @ standardise!

      a: apples; b: bananas; c: cherries; d: ?; e: ?; f:? g: guava; h:?; i: ?; j: ?; k: ?

    8. Uno

      d: dates
      ...
      f: figs
      ...
      k: kiwi
      ...

    9. Fluxd

    4. Native Soul

Much appreciation from the north, as this platform keeps a steady link to my home,
the framework u have set and the work u put in is just inspiring ---

the flux is constant, so i welcome all change and want to say, where i can help i am open to helping.
I am down in rSA Feb, and making a mission to JOzi aswell, we should hook up-- i know its early ,

    5. lebogang nkoane

      Merci.

Fa sho — I could be in CPT around that time, but yeah, we can play it by ear.

    6. Sam Buk

sounds like exciting times. just an add-on if i may:

i've had the chance to view 75 with an i pad. i find that the site is quite a tight fit for the i-pad's screen size which means one loses a bit of the edge of the photography. i'm talking inches here which is not a biggie but i thought you may want to check it out.

secondly on the tags. i may have missed it in your explanation but for clarity's sake, are you thinking of including search functionality? it would be great for those of us looking or specific photographers, themes etc.

      thanks

    7. lebogang nkoane

Aiit — I will check out the iPad thing. On tags, yes, tags help with searchability and I will be adding that too.

BUT, I will miss this deadline — chasing a dream that will fund every single idea that has ever crossed my mind has taken priority, but, I am still working on the new 75, not as efficiently as I should though.
